St George’s Day

Over the last few days Emma and the seedlings have been busy making St. George’s Day Shields.

First of all, Emma was careful and cut out shield shapes from an old cardboard box.

The Seedlings then painted their own shield white. (And the table top!)

The Seedlings had to wait overnight for the white paint to dry. They then painted a red cross on their shield to represent the English flag.

Next, they coloured in a dragon printable which Emma cut out and the seedlings stuck it onto the front of the shield.

Georgia told Tracie she was scared of dragons as they have fire coming out their mouth.

The seedlings were all proud showing their mummy’s and daddy’s the shields when they were picked up, they walked out holding them ready to slay the dragons on the way home.

Soft Play Fun

This week, all the children have loved the soft play area. Even the Wanderers and Rangers have used them.

Emma and the Seedlings used the soft play area to practice counting and looked around for different shapes.

Molly buried Jack underneath the blocks to make a grave!

Martie made Tracie’s heart jump when trying to go down the steps head first!

Chloe, Leo and Molly made a big aeroplane. Leo was the pilot and took the girls on holiday. Tracie asked if he could fly her to Madeira so she could enjoy the hot weather, Chloe said she wants to go with her so she could go swimming.

Martha used the blocks to make a barricade as she didn’t want to go home! We love the blocks as we can make up so many different activities and role play games.

Happy 3rd Birthday Fearne

Today the Little Seedlings all threw Fearne a big Rainbow Birthday Tea Party.

Happy Birthday

The Seedlings all decided we should have carrot and cucumber sticks, corn snacks, Jam sandwiches, pear, banana and grapes as Fearne is a plant based child and these are her favourites.

Plant Based Tea Party

When Tracie said we can’t have Birthday cake the children insisted we had to have one, not just any plain one. They all shouted “a big chocolate one” with candles!

The Little Seedlings decorated the room with rainbows that they had made in the morning.

All the girls came in wearing rainbows on their tops to brighten up the party!

Happy Birthday Fearne we hope you’ve had a lovely day!

Happy St Patrick’s Day Celebrations

Today we all had a lovely sunny day for our St Patrick’s Celebrations. Sophie’s mum brought in some lovely decorations and fancy dress accessories, the Little Seedlings had fun taking turns wearing them. Even Tracie and Emma had a go!

Emma designed and created these lovely hats and the Little Seedlings enjoyed painting and sticking on some green glitter. We had glitter everywhere all over the tables, our clothes, in the hall, bathroom and all over Alfie!

At one point we thought Alfie was a glittery Leprechaun! Georgia thought he was a green smurf, from the Trolls movie!

The Little Seedlings loved colouring in the masks. Tracie asked the children to choose any pen to colour the face in, but not to colour the eyes as we are cutting them out.

What’s the first part they all coloured? Yes the eyes!

Even the Wildlife Rangers enjoyed taking part before and after school.

Chinese New Year

Emma planned this year’s Chinese New Year activities, she helped the Seedlings and Wanderers make a colourful Chinese Dragon. Emma made a lovely outline of the Dragon’s head, tail and body. She then provided the children with various materials so they could choose what they wanted to decorate it with.

Sophie and Georgia Making The Tail

Everyone took turns painting the body of the Dragon. Leo and Ivor wanted to use their hands and feet. Georgia, Niamh, Luke and Fearne wanted to use paint brushes.

Once the Dragon was finished the children proudly showed it off by marching around the front garden, dancing to Chinese music. Afterwards, the children sat down to a Chinese meal and tried to use chop sticks.
