OWW A Wriggly Piglet with a Prickly Problem

Today we all read the story about a piglet with a prickly bottom problem. We opened up our Oww! story sack and the children loved the story, they joined in along with the story using the puppets and masks they made.

Georgia knew all her numbers and put the piglets all in order. Fearne read the numbers down from 7 and Alfie enjoyed messing them up, but that was ok as Georgia put them in the right sequence again.

You can buy our interactive Owww! activity sack on our eBay store to play and learn along with your children.

Even Fairies Wear Glasses Story Sack

We had fun today reading the story Even Fairies Wear Glasses from our story sack. Fearne loved the butterfly badge making activity and was so excited to take it home to show her Daddy.

We played with a big box of funny, weird and wonderful glasses and Fearne chose the gold sparkly ones. She kept them on all afternoon. When Fearne came in the next day she wanted to wear them again and read the Poppy Fairy books.

We’ve made these activities and the story book into an interactive story sack for your children to play with. You can buy the Even Fairies Wear Glasses story sack on our eBay store.

Fruit or Vegetables?

The girls loved reading and finding out about fruit and vegetables. They loved playing 5 a day bingo so much we had to play it twice! We’ve made our Vegetables book into an interactive story sack for you to play with, learn and grow with your children.

After we read the book, we looked on the internet for different types of fruit and Vegetables, Fearne said she loves carrots and Georgia said she didn’t like potatoes.

We played the ‘Fruit or Vegetables’ game by looking at the pictures and putting them on to the correct pile. The girls went on to ask us for peas and carrots for lunch and for pudding fruit salad. I told them they were very good choices, I encouraged Georgia to have some mashed potato with the vegetables. She was very brave and tried it, and she said she loved it!

If you’d like to learn more about Vegetables, we’ve made our very on story sack full with Veggie games and information for your children to learn and grow!

Wildlife Wanderers and the Garden Classroom

We have been so busy in the Garden Classroom getting ready for Spring and the good weather.

We started germinating the seeds in the warmth of the house as its so cold outside. In a couple of weeks we can put them in the frame to grow lots of strong roots and harden off before growing outdoors. The children have enjoyed using old milk cartons and juice bottles to sow the seeds in or repot them individually so they can watch the growth on the roots.

Half Term with the Wonderful Wanderers and Wildlife Rangers

It was so good to spend extra time with the Rangers this week. We don’t always get time for fun activities after school so we made the most of the week.

The Wildlife Rangers enjoyed potting on their seedlings they sowed a few weeks ago. They are already getting big and strong, before we plant them outside we need to acclimatise them in the cold frames.

The Rangers especially enjoyed the junk modelling activities and made some lovely creations. Jacy made a sloth as he says he’s ‘obsessed with them!’ Tracie has suggested he do a project on them as he could find out some interesting facts about them.

We talked about the noises they make Jacy shouted out, “Hey Google, what noise does a sloth make?” and Google said “huff, I don’t have a sound for that at the moment, but ask me again as I am learning more and more every day!” This made everyone laugh.

The children went on to ask Google lots of funny questions, “Hey Google, what sound does a pig make? “A pig says, Oink oink, would you like to hear the sound of a horse?” Everyone shouted “Yes please” it was all very funny.

Garden Challenge 2021: Gemma’s February Update

It is now the end of February and Gemma, Chloe and baby Jack have been working hard in the garden. Even Micky got stuck in removing a tree stump.

Gemma had these packing cartons and decided to recycle them into plant pots for her seedings.

After a week, the seeds have started to grow. The lid of the meal dishes make a great ecosystem keeping them self watered.

Chloe has been busy with her growing plants. The Pink pot has won by having seedlings growing well!

Little Seedlings Celebrate St. Valentine’s Day

The Little Seedlings enjoyed making their mummies and daddies Valentine’s Day gifts. We made hang up hearts out of salt dough, feet flowers and tweet-heart birds for their cards. The Seedlings also enjoyed eating the heart burgers and cupcakes that the Wanderers and Rangers had made for them.

Feeding Frenzy

We’ve had loads of fun this week cleaning and mending our old bird boxes and feeders, ready for the Autumn bird rush. We made a tall feeding station to keep Fizzy, Flora and Rosie from frightening them away! We are hoping our Robin, who we call Christopher, comes back for tea soon!
